Auckland's better than                Invercargill

As Celo Green once said, bright lights bigger city, but what more could a greater city want. Is it resources, is it facilities or is it its tourism industry? Well at least one of these cities has a University but don't underestimate the other city because it has plenty of good attractions too. But the question remains, Why is Auckland better than Invercargill? 

Education is a key to a good future, so a university is critical to have. In saying that Auckland has one of the best universities in New Zealand along with Otago. Some of the courses to study are Fine arts, Law, Architecture, Medical and business. Invercargill on the other hand has no University and struggles to produce quality education.

When you're finished your studies and ready for job hunting, Auckland is the place to be. It offers New Zealand's widest range of career opportunities and highest paying positions in the corporate world.

Entertainment is a big attraction and Auckland showcases a wide range of choices. From Rainbows end, The zoo, Kelly Tarltons and I-Max theatre to unlimited Cafes, bars and Restaurants and live entertainment, And this is only the tip of it. What more could you ask for!!!

Auckland made the list of the top 10 cities in the world because of its offer of cuisine, culture and coastal scenery. Along side Paris, Capetown, Shanghai, Chicago, and Adelaide. Auckland is built against an stunning waterfront. Food, Art and exploring the scenery are all reasons to want to be in Auckland, which is one of the most mixed cultural cities of the world. 

I  cant help but notice the amazing features Auckland offers. Its astonishing how the city has grown through modern technology but this cultural shift hasn't occurred in little old Invercargill. From cuisine and upper class restaurants, Invercargill doesn't fit the bill with drive through McDonlands and the local pub from coastal scenery and beautiful waterfronts Invercargill can't compete with its local streams and backyard puddles. I guess what im trying to say is Aucklands establishments are far more greater, complex and more modern than the town of Invercargill. Not many cities can give Auckland  a run for its money and this is why it is classed as one of the Super cities of the world.

Auckland by far is a greater city than Invercargill city then Invercargill it offers everything and more, which is why its deemed as one of the super cities of the world. But as a wise man once said "A city isn't defined by the people who live in it but by the people who created it " and this is why i think that Auckland is a better city than Invercargill.

Reliever Teacher

"As I climbed into my spaceship Ring, Ring, oh my gosh it's an alarm Im falling... Bang."I hit the ground "Ouch"I scream as i wake up. My head fizzing with pain . I looked around "few its just a dream " I must of hit my head on my bedside table " "but what was that ringing sound ". Ring , There it is again Oh its just my phone I answer the call with a faint "Hello". Next thing I know I was asked to go to Oaklands School to relieve for Mr Ladbrook In room 9 until lunch. I quickly run to my bathroom, grab my toothbrush ,brush my teeth then grab my hair brush ," by now its 7:30" . I rush to the kitchen  at the same time tying my hair up and, Grab my bag and head to my car.

"I arrive at Oaklands. I walk nervously to my classroom , not sure what to expect.""What will the class look like?""How will the children act?"All these questions circling around in my head as I walk towards room 9 , my new class ". I reach for the door nervously, I pull it open to the sight of children dropping what was in their hands and zooming up to me , like a V8 car race !.1 by 1 question by question ."Hi my names Kate ,Whats yours "? "Who are you?""Why are you here?"" Are you our new teacher?""All these questions.fill my brain up with anger.Its like being in a dog shelter."

I slowly make my way through the concert ,like crowd.l sit down feeling anxious.Unpack what I need at the same time get prepared for the day. Riiinnng, "Is it a fire,earthquake.""My body all tense and my muscles tightening,Oh wait everyone's sitting down on the mat whispering to one another .""Did I smell? Or ... Now this is when I realize that it is just the morning bell ,I walk awkwardly to my red,shiny chair.""Everybody stared at me like i just killed someone." I look around for the role (Where is it?) ( What does it look like?) I feel to scared to ask. But luckily a brunette haired girl must of known what I was thinking. She was like a secret student. She ran back to the desk ,grabbed a white piece of paper and handed it to me. A bit of relief rushed through my blood Ike a rocket flying back to earth. I nervously read the role aloud, scared I might pronounce a name incorrect. "Kiora Hannah , Good morning Jason...Hello Lily, Hallo James"

" I have learnt what the responsibilitys and punishments are by now ,with some help from the secret student." I sent them off to do there work. "What if someone's naughty" I'm still to afraid to tell them off  (Harden up your the teacher,you need to act like one) I suddenly hear a student talking to their neighbour ." I wonder what they're saying? "Are they talking about me Or are they talking about their learning?""I feel sick, maybe I worry to much about something that may not of happened ?" I step outside for a second." I feel a little bit better " I looked back at the class ,another gush of relief ! "The class is behaving well, but not for long.I take one step into the class and pear around the corner.To the sight of girls passing pink paper .""I finally have the guts to say something""I shakily walk over to them ..." Riiinnng 

Morning tea -

" As soon as the bell rung all the children scooted out one door to grab their food ,back through the class and out the other door." I locked the door and headed to th staff room where the rest of the teachers were.I could smell the delicious bacon and egg scones cooking. I looked around for a seat ,But I couldn't find one so I decided to stand in a corner .Untill a teacher introduced him self to me and offered me his seat. I introduced my self to him, said thanks and took a seats. All the teacher and I chatted for about 10-15 minutes while waiting for the bell to ring. Riiinnng, -End Of Morning Tea

When I got back to Room 9. I saw students sitting down drawing, But next on the daily scrum was class book . "I asked a pupil unsure about why some were drawing, She said you are aloud to draw but ONLY if you can listen and understand what the books about at the same time while drawing" I grabbed the book and started to read (the book is called THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK) "I came across an interesting part.""I decided to ask a question." What is the name of the of the place the Franks stayed at? Only I person put their hand up. But I didn't want to ask her because she always offers and answers things. So I looked around the room again and still no more hands appeared but what did was 2 students drawing on each others legs.

"I told them off for drawing on their legs but they didn't listen to me."I separated them and had a chat to both and eventually they listened " "I finished the chapter and sent them to do some silent writing" I sat back on my desk ."Immediately those two students were drawing on each other again and talking" I walked over to them feeling letdown because I just talked to them. "When I reached where they were sitting I could faintly hear what they were saying""I heard my name mentioned " They were back chatting about me."Felling more upset then I already was." Suddenly the lunch bell rung."All the students rush to grab their lunch and outside to play." (CREEK) I heard the door slowly open it's Mr Ladbrook. " I tell him about my day " " I can tell he's not happy by the discusted look on his face ". Now I fell really relieved that the normal teacher has arrived." " No sooner than that I was out the door racing to my car and driving home for a well earned rest after a long restful day ".

I think i am kindle \ standing tall because i have showed explained it to someone

Reduce , reuse and recycle goal

My goal was: to take milk bottle lids of the bottles before putting them in the bin.

I chose this because I never used to take the lids off the bottles.

For this goal I think I am standing tall / at the Kindle stage because I can teach other people to reuse and recycle by making a video.


My next step is to take the lids off more often before putting them in the bin.

I believe I am Extended Abstract because I can make an evaluation about the importance of my ideas to the text.

I have found this learning challenging because each time I've found the main point maps with the ( how does this main point help with the authors point of view ) bubble hard.

Passion project !!!

A passion project is something you research about a thing you are interested in e.g a job , an animal or a sport. I am doing my passion project with Katie , about Little Mix because we both have Interest in them. First we had to come up with a question and ours was " how did Little Mix become famous?" . We also had other questions like " how old we're they when they had the interest in singing? Why did they join X factor? Next we had to research about our questions and write the in the SOLO map.We will know we have finished once we have enough information to answer the main question . The way we are going to present our learning is on a big poster. A passion project can take up to a month maybe even longer .

Our task was to design the most invincible , the toughest or the fastest animal.
I decided to create my own invincible animal .
The features it has is rainbow parrot wings, mouse ears, Dog nose, dinosaur tail and crab feet, snake tongue, tiger stripes

We had to sketch the outline of the chosen animal lightly then we had to colour the animal in with different colours .

I think I am extended abstract because I have sketched the outline lightly and coloured my"n in with brown , orange , rainbow , green and red. And now I have completed it .

I have also added a birth certificate !!!!

discovery

In Discovery today, room 9 went down to the Kakano team to meet there buddy and did some building, craft making ect.
Our goal was participating and contributing, I did this by helping and getting involved in a few activities.
The activities I participated in were, sketching , scribbling and lego building.
Next time i would like to do card making with my buddy.

I think this video is extended abstract because I have explained why i have selected the parts chosen.
The reason I chose the parts is because they were relavant and the most enteresting  parts without giving away to much imfomation

Goals Update

For book standards my goal has been to be a role model to others by reminding them to use the book standards. I haven't really had to do this as I haven't looked at anybody else's book. This will remain my my goal. My second goal is to use all of the practice the hard bits strategies without being prompted by the teacher. I have been going good at this because I have been doing this. For example, in maths when I practise using the maths text books, if I get stuck I take break and then I go back to it. This goal needs a bit more work.

Why Do I Think The beast Is His Favourite?

I think the beast is Logan's favourite because hes a really strong and competitive player and Logan might want to be like him when he grows up. I think that this inference is a really good one and that this was a more challenging inference than most other ones I've read before.I think that i am extended abstract because i have used more than one answer to explain it and have said if i think that is a good inference or not

Goals Update

These were my goals last week: "My goal this week is to act as a role model to others to help them to follow the book standards. My second goal this week is take risks when playing sports and doing fitness" For the first goal I have had the opportunity to remind others to use the book standards. I will keep this as a goal. For my second goal I have participated in all sports and fitness activities. I think I have achieved this. My new goal is to use all of the practice  the hard bits strategies without being prompted by the teacher.
